White Rock is a four-season paradise, and so there’s plenty of year-round things to do and see on land and on the water. Go putt 18 holes in the middle of January. Go skiing in April. Boogie Board all Summer. Hike, swim, bike or run. It’s fun to be a tourist, or just a tourist in your own town. And it’s all right here in White Rock and right next door. Plan your escape today by using the category drop-down menu below to search our tourism choices.

GREETINGS!

Each year the City of White Rock welcomes guests from all across Canada, and indeed, the world.

White Rock offers something for everyone. You can bundle up and enjoy a quiet stroll along our famous waterfront and historic pier, or escape from the cold and pamper yourself at one of White Rock's luxurious day spas.

If you're passionate about shopping, I'd like to remind you that White Rock is a unique destination shopping area. Come spend time browsing through our one-of-a-kind art galleries, gift & specialty stores.

A trip to White Rock would not be complete without a meal at one of our many upscale cafes and restaurants. Eating dinner by candlelight, while watching the sunset over the water is one of my favourite ways to end the day.

This winter, I would personally like to invite you to join us for the day and take advantage of our free waterfront parking from Monday to Thursdays now thru February 28, 2010.

To learn more about what is happening in our community, I encourage you to visit the City's website at www.city.whiterock.bc.ca

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Since 1944, the White Rock Players Club has provided laughter, tears and thrills at the best community theatre in the White Rock / South Surrey area. The Club has owned and operated the White Rock Playhouse since 1960.

The Club presents six productions per year, including our popular almost-traditional Christmas Pantomime. We generally produce a mix of contemporary and traditional comedies, dramas and thrillers. As well as providing a venue for community actors, technical staff and volunteers, the 218 seat Playhouse is available for rental by artistic or business groups at very reasonable rates.

Regularly updated information about provincial highway conditions is provided based on the conditions that maintenance contractor staff encounter while performing highway maintenance.

It should be noted that severe weather, sudden temperature changes and snow or rainfall can cause road conditions to change rapidly. For this reason, the information provided on this site may not reflect changes that have taken place since the last update of the Drive BC web site. Neither the ministry nor its maintenance contractors are responsible for differences between current conditions and conditions noted at the time this information was entered. Come spend a day and walk along the legendary White Rock waterfront!

We have sizeable 8km (5 miles) of sandy beach as well as a 2.2km (1.2 miles) of bricked seawall promenade and our pedestrian Pier from which stroll, run or just rest and admire the view of magnificent Semiahmoo Bay.

Our beach is great for skimboarding, swimming or just getting the sand and clean water of the Pacific Ocean in between your toes.

Yes, we are named for our historic White Rock, the 441-tonne (486-ton) rock that rests of the shores of the beach, apparently left when glaciers receded thousands of years ago. Native legend holds that the white rock was hurled across the Strait of Georgia by the son of a Salish sea god in love with a Cowichan maiden. He declared, “Where this rock lands, there we will make our new home and establish our new tribe.”

The White Rock, promenade, beach and Pier are free of charge and open all year round. Parking is available anywhere along the waterfront for $2 per hour.
